The Client Reality Check

In Q2 2026, Wi-Fi 7 client adoption is still ~15%. Apple Silicon Macs, iPhone 16, Samsung S24/S25, and Intel BE200 laptops support it. Everything else — including all ~2023 enterprise laptops — tops out at Wi-Fi 6E.

When Wi-Fi 7 Makes Sense Now

• Greenfield deployments — you're pulling Cat 6A anyway, future-proof the APs
• High-density venues — auditoriums, conference centers where MLO materially helps
• Latency-sensitive apps — AR/VR training, ultra-low-latency IoT

When Wi-Fi 6E Is Still Right

• Standard office refresh with 3-year client refresh cycle
• Campus deployments where PoE++ budget is the constraint (Wi-Fi 7 APs draw more)
• Cost-sensitive projects — Wi-Fi 7 APs still carry 40–60% price premium
